You may be wondering why we send you a reminder that your lease is about to end 5 weeks before it finishes. We feel it is very important to give yourself plenty of time to prepare your car for its return, it could save you thousands.
Firstly, a lot of people only realise they only need to get a new car when they receive a reminder from the lease company. Leasing is a very competitive industry and shopping around may get you a better deal elsewhere. However, obtaining the cheapest price is not the be-all-and-end-all, a cheap deal might mean a lower mileage allowance with higher penalties. In short, you need to give yourself time to weigh up all the options.
Shopping for a new car and trying to get a deal is fun, but don't get carried away and forget about the car you have now!
Under the terms of your lease you have to return your car in a reasonable condition, you are allowed some 'fair wear and tear', but you will be charged for anything the lease company deems to beyond fair. If your car has dents, scuffs, scratches, cigarette burns, dirty seats, foul odours, or a whole host of other things, then you can be charged full price for replacement or repair.
This is a very serious concern that you should address within plenty of time. Our sister company has a free Lease Car Guide which will help you with everything you need to know about the care, maintenance and return of your lease car. (And if it all looks like to much to learn, they also provide a lease return service).
